Recovery Coaching
WHAT IS PSYCHOSOCIAL RECOVERY COACHING?
A psychosocial disability is a term used to describe a disability that may arise from a mental illness. Psychosocial recovery coaching is support that aims to help overcome the obstacles and barriers to participation that might be faced by someone living with a mental health condition.
At Living Communities, our recovery coaches have knowledge or lived experience of mental illness, and will walk alongside you as you find support and stay connected to supports that work for you.
Understanding Negative Feedback
For those with a psychosocial disability, criticism can be a terrible trigger. Recovery coaching can help teach you to hear and understand negative feedback in healthier, more manageable ways.
Focus and Stamina
Concentration can be difficult, as can staying on task for periods of time. Recovery coaching can help with both focus and stamina, allowing you to do more for longer.
Interacting With Others
Social anxiety can lead to isolation and exclusion. Interacting in strange environments can also be challenging. Recovery coaching can help step through these challenges.
Managing Stress
Whether general anxiety, triggered by trauma or simply feeling overwhelmed, stress can be debilitating. Recovery coaching can help you mitigate and manage your stress more effectively.
Coping With Pressure
Whether its pressure to complete daily tasks or becoming overwhelmed trying to manage multiple things at once, our recovery coaches can help implement strategies that will assist you.
Time Management
Through creating routine, managing priorities and reducing stressors that through out a day, your recovery coach can help you maximise your productivity without leaving you feeling overloaded.
More services will be added in the future, and if you don’t see what you need in this list, please speak to one of our team today and we can see what we can do to help. We are always looking for ways to grow and adapt to our communities needs.
